Welcome to the Fergus Falls Public Schools Special Education Department website! I’m Nancy Reard, and I am honored and excited to serve as the Director of Special Education.

My journey with Fergus Falls Public Schools began more than 30 years ago as a special education teacher. Since 1995, I have had the privilege of working alongside students, staff and families in our community. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to educating, supporting, and nurturing children as they grow academically, socially, and personally. These experiences have reinforced for me the importance of strong relationships, community, collaboration, and resilience in the educational journey.

As the Director of Special Education, I am deeply committed to building upon our district’s tradition of excellence and ensuring that every student has the opportunity, support, and resources needed to reach their full potential.

Our goal is to provide high-quality special education programs and services that recognize and build upon each student’s unique strengths while thoughtfully addressing their individual needs. We believe in creating inclusive, supportive learning environments where every child can thrive. Our dedicated team of professionals is committed to partnering with students and families every step of the way, providing expertise, compassion, and a genuine commitment to each student’s success.
